DAY 2

Today after breakfast, go out and explore this Island Although Skiathos Town is the only large town on the island there is plenty to see and do around this marvelous, green island. We suggest travelling north to Kastro area, where the ruined castle stands sentinel.

It is a wonderous afternoon walking around the ruined castle that has been used against pirates over the centuries and it has some of the best views of the mainland. Find your own beach on which you can relax. Return to the town in the evening for dinner and dine on the fresh fish and traditional Greek food which can be found in abundance!

DAY 3

Today, after breakfast, you have another day to explore the wonders of Skiathos, and your options are limitless. The Bourzi which separates the old and new ports is a must to discover. Visit Lalaria beach, which is only accessible from the water. The beach is a delight, contained by lofty impassable cliffs that have a natural arch and caves on the east side. Don’t miss Koukounaries Beach. There are beach bars at intervals, playing music. The beach has the sort of sparkling, shallow waters that are safe for non-swimmers as well.

Very close is Agia Eleni beach, with its heavenly sandy bay, the usual rows of sun loungers, but also colourful soft couches, all served by a quirky beach bar. If you get bored of lying on the beach you can rent a canoe, or go on a walk to see what you can find beyond either end. To the north is a cape with a great view of the mainland, and on the south side the coast gets rockier, with caves on the waterline. Diving is a must in Skiathos. The waters of Skiathos are a diver’s dream, with visibility of 30 meters or more and sea temperatures up to 26°C

If you’re already qualified, they’ll organize excursions to reefs, caves and a wreck, and special night dives are also available, while beginners are also catered for, taking an introductory course. .

Upon arrival at Skopelos, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Walk in the streets of Skopelos town, pondering the whitewashed houses with their red tiled roofs.

Have your dinner in one of the traditional restaurants in town. After all, Skopelos is quieter and more peaceful than Skiathos, so enjoy you serene surroundings

DAY 5

Today after breakfast it’s time to explore Skopelos, which is a photographer’s heaven. Travel into the mountains or around the villages on the west coast of the island. Glossa is particularly beautiful at the island’s Northern most tip. There are also Byzantine antiquities, smuggler’s coves and quaint villages to discover around the island. Skopelos has received quite a bit of publicity since the release of the movie “Mamma Mia”, and the monastery shown in the movie is on the sip is found at Agios Yiannis. Spend the evening relaxing in any one of Skopelo’s traditional bars or restaurants.

DAY 6

Have your breakfast and let’s travel by ferry to Alonissos Island (around 30 minutes) Relax and enjoy the short boat trip, watching the blue waters and keeping an eye out for the seals that live near the island. After all Allonissos is close to the marine reserve where all sea life is protected. Upon arrival at the port of Patitiri you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel.

Enjoy this serene island which has a charm all of its own. As fishing is one of the island’s main activities, ensure your have a dinner of fresh fish while you are on the island.

Go for hiking! Using Patitiri or the Old Village as a starting point there are dozens of walking trails. You can strike out for tiny villages, ravines like Vathi Rema or Kastanorema, or Mount Kalovoulos at 325-metres to watch the sun go down.

Walking this rocky terrain it may surprise you just how diverse the island’s nature is.

The south is a bucolic landscape of pines, wild herbs, olive groves and orchards for figs and pears, while the protected north is all holm oaks, wildflowers and maple trees.

If you take on the seven-hour walk to the fishing Village of Steni Vala on the upper east coast, you can watch the countryside change and enter a magical cedar forest near the end.

DAY 7

Have your breakfast and explore the town of Patitiri, a veritable ghost town and a photographer’s paradise. Most of the island’s best beaches are to the north and east of the island and there is regular public transport to these places.

Don’t miss to go to Leftos Gialos beach. What makes this cove so appealing is there’s an old olive grove on the edge of the beach, with flowerbeds and wild thyme and lavender growing among the trees.

At the two tavernas, Eleonas and Dolopes Island, you can dine in the grove. Leftos Gialos beach has clear, rippling water with different shades of blue green. Alonissos may be small, but it’s a sign of the natural splendour in its waters, so go for diving/1

Underwater visibility is as high as 40 metres, and summer water temperatures are almost tropical.

Explore the Gorgonian Garden to a depth of 40 metres and dominated by spectacular red gorgonians, larger than almost anywhere in the Mediterranean.

The Blue Cave, teeming with fan mussels and moray eels, is suited to all levels, allowing newcomers to stay shallow and experienced divers to explore a little deeper.

There is a kind of loophole if you want to see parts of the National Marine Park that would normally be off-limits

And that is to volunteer as a marine biologist. You can sail into Zona A, learning more about the work of marine conservators and putting yourself to use as a scientist.

One of your duties might be to assist MOm’s research by spotting and making notes on monk seals, as well as Risso’s, bottlenose, striped and common dolphins.
