It is considered a destination that can satisfy any taste. Because of its many plains and valleys, Naxos is famous since ancient times for being fertile and producing various agricultural products like olives, and high-quality wine. Furthermore, meat and cheese are exquisite!

One thing is for sure: vacation there will be full of tastes and delicious meals. The richness and fertility of the land permitted the inhabitants to be financially independent of the rest of Greece. That explains why it was one of the last islands of the Cyclades to open its gates to the tourism industry and why it is one of the few Cycladic islands that has kept its natural beauty unspoiled by tourism. Traditional villages such as Halki, Apiranthos, and Filoti have managed to preserve their architecture and authenticity and are real gems.

DAY 7

After breakfast, lets get to know Naxos. Our first stop is at Belonia tower, one of the best-preserved towers on Naxos, overlooking the sea. It is an imposing structure, built in 1600. Next stop Filoti, the biggest village of Naxos. We will have a guided tour visiting Panagia Filotitissa, Barozzi Tower and the fully restored traditional settlement of Fasolas

Two photo stops are next, one outside Apiranthos village where you can enjoy the full view of Tragea valley and Naxos town, and another at a location from where we see Donoussa and Koufonissia islands. .

DAY 8

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit Damalas, a cute little village in the heart of Tragea valley, where we watch a demonstration at the only remaining traditional pottery workshop and the restored olive press, a few metres further.

Then we drive to Halki, a picturesque village where you can walk in the narrow marble alleys, visit the traditional citron distillery from 1896, and have a coffee enjoying the classy atmosphere.

Then we head to the oldest Byzantine church of Panagia Drossiani (6th AD), with its unique frescoes and architecture. Driving on to the mountainous part of Naxos, we stop at the famous village of Apiranthos, the “marble village” where you can stroll on the marble cobbled streets and take loads of photos. Then we drive towards the northern part of the island and reach the northernmost edge at Apollonas. A small, typical Cycladic fishermen village, ideal for swimming or just relaxing at the cafes and taverns by the sea.

Before taking the coastal road back to town, we admire the impressive 10m statue, a colossal unfinished Kouros-style statue from 6th BC. Driving back with amazing views of Agia tower and neighbouring islands.

DAY 9

After breakfast, enjoy a full day in golden beaches of Naxos. Cedar Forest of Alyko is a beautiful beach – but it’s so much more, too. The juniper trees line the strand, the cliffs create a barrier from the wind and the water is pristine and bright turquoise. But the real wonder is the abandoned hotel that’s covered with art by the Balinese street artist known as Wild Drawing.

It is utterly unexpected – and the perfect place for a photoshoot. Bring your own picnic and spend the day at one with wild nature. Or go for Hiking through the lush countryside of Naxos, an unmissable experience on this marble-stoned path, which takes you through seven picturesque villages. Along the way you’ll pass by waterfalls, ancient marble statues and adorable donkeys.
